    Hey guys

Just wondering if it would be helpful to provide the the following parameters for the water collected from us?

I can post daily (time permitting), as these get measured daily with a YSI combined probe thingy that also get calibrated daily.

pH, DO in %, salinity in ppt, and temp in Celsius.

pH is maintained with caustic soda so just needs to be buffered during/after collection from the magic tap.......

    @Midnight Reefer ......

    Fantastic Idea....

Would alk, be possible? Probably not monitored on an ongoing basis.

Po4 would be pushing it :)

Seeing as though I use the TOA water, this would be awesome.

With the price of salt that escalates it would be good to know this so I can decide on the change from synthetic salt.
    Following this closely.

Would be interesting to here some stories of how chaps, especially with SPS systems buffer this water.
Even a sort of pricing chart using NSW + additives to get it up to Reef quality vs salt + RO etc!

if i may ask a stupid question, is it reef ready?
are the params inline with whats needed for reefs?

do local users buffer the water in anyway?

my guess if not, wont it cause instability in the tank? wrong alk, ca, mg etc...

Well, I use the water for my coral display and no algae blooms etc. Calcium as I test it is at around 380, Alk is at 1.7meq/l. But it can change from hour to hour, our water runs through 24/7 and its the sea :)

So everything is a bit low but all our displays run on that water and our peacock mantis moulted last week so all good for inverts.

Sadly we do not have a full out coral reef bearing sea here in the cape so one cannot expect perfect "coral water".

I have premixing drums that heat my water up before I use it and run it through a carbon block. I just buffer the water as I am working with large volumes.

My SPS grows without issues and my hydnopora is becoming a large pest.

Would be interesting to see what results some other reefers are getting on using this water so kindly provided by 2 Oceans.
And some info on their regime to get temp up lower nutrients and increase Params.
Wouter I'm actually impressed with some of your stats so far.
Somebody told me that your summer to winter readings are very different?

I have been collecting water from two oceans from day one I started the hobby(Almost 4 years now). Never had any problems after doing water changes or at any given point in time.

Hosted corals range from softies, lps and 2 or 3 sps no problems at all.

@brentv Thank you brent. The water changes because its always comming from the sea, what we do to it is literally sand filter it and carbon it and caustic soda it for the pH. Thats all we change as its over 7000L an hour 24/7, I just make my water more special :)
