This debate has probably been done to death already. I'm looking at it from the point of view of battery powered backup though. Does the Vortech have this option? I don't like how much space the Tunze takes up in the tank, but I hear that they're very reliable?

Tunze is a bit more directional, but my personal preferance... either can be coupled to battery although a vortech has quite an expensive battery expansion you need to purchase specifically..
