    Hi Guys,

I'm pondering removing my two Seio 1500 flow pumps and replacing them with a tunze 6045.

I have quite a lot of live rock in my 600x600x600 cube, but the current two Seio's are blowing the substrate away.

Would replacing the 2 Seio 1500's with one Tunze 6045 work?

can you show us how your pumps are currently set up in your tank.

Although i recommend the tunze, replacing pumps because of sand blowing around is not the best solution.

This is essentially where the pumps are at the moment. I'd like to minimize the amount of pumps in the tank as well.

I have two boyu wm2 pumps in as well to randomize the flow.

Can you not get a Seio controller to set the maximum/minimum speed of the pumps?

I haven't seen any in the shops and kinda also looking for a reason to upgrade :)

Just wondering if one Tunze 6045 would be sufficient for the job. The plan is to leave the two boyu's in at the moment and when I get another Tunze 6045, remove them as well.

    Would that be feasible?

try hide the seio's behind the rockwork if possible
One blowing to the front top the other the left top the boyu to the dead spot of any.
this could help both hide the pumps, and stop your sand storms.
    maybe like this?

I recall seeing a seio intermittent switch. Thought the newer/larger seios could be controlled to some degree or am i completely wrong?

i recall thos as the older models i remeber sweetnsour had some the 2 x 10000l/h with the switch. but the new flow pumps i have not seen anything in recent months perhaps discontinued or just not popular.

so would replacing the two 1500 seio's with a tunze 6045 be feasible? Ultimately the plan is to remove all the pumps and just have two tunze 6045's running.

if this is your plan then perhaps its a good idea, also why not consider the 6055 or 6095 with a 7092 controller. why not contact @Anita or @George from aqua africa, and discuss further option ;)

    Great service reply from Anita:

    Hi John

Nice to hear from you ...

It would be fine to take two of your pumps out and replace it with the 6045 Nanostream which is suitable

for 40-500 litre tanks, with a flow rate of 1,500 to 4,500 l/hr. You can then change the other

two pumps for another 6045 Nanostream when you are ready.

If you like we can send you 2 x 6045 Nanostreams now, you can pay 50% now and 50% next month, which would

    save you the double freight.

Please review the attached estimate. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

We look forward to working with you.

    Sincerely Anita
