I have one of these on my 4ft setup, and its everything you would expect and more. Plus with the safety connector and a deep cycle batery, power outages are no problem at all!

The 1073.05 goes for R2387, but for one week only starting today, if you purchase one you receive a 6105.500 Safety Connector (R500) no charge. You attach the safety connector to a small 12v gate battery and when your power goes off, the pump continues to work off of the battery. Cheers Anita

Does the safety connector charge the battery when the power comes back on or does one need to still buy a trickle charger for the battery

Do I understand this correctly. These are specs from Tunze website

    Silence 1073.05
    Pumping power: 900 to 3,000 l/h (237.7 to
    792.5 USgal./h).
    Energy consumption: at 18 V max. 26 W, at 24 V
    max. 43 W.
    Pumping head at 18 V: 2.5 m (98.4 in.), at 24 V:
    3.9 m (153.5 in.)., ¾“ GAS hose supports
    Voltage / frequency: 100 - 240 V / 50 - 60 Hz.
    Cable length: 5 m (196.8 in.).
Dimensions without outlet and suction cups: 118 x
    94 x 75 mm (4.6 x 3.7 x 2.9 in.).

The pump requires 18V to get a head height of 2.5m. The only deep cycle batteries Ive seen are 12V therefore the pump will not be as effective. What is the head height when being supplied 12V and at what l/h ?

Or have I totally lost the plot?

Toolboysa not to worry, you are very sane and yes the pump will perform as if you are using the 12v jumper and yes the water back into the tank will decrease to about 900 to 1,100 l/h depending on the bends on the plumbing. Even at this rate you would still be able to maintain oxygen levels to sustain your tank and sump for the duration of the outage. No live stock lost.

Hi guys, ok so this is the problem here. Just setup my new (secondhand) Red Sea Max 130. The skimmer will drive me insane as it's so loud that the neighbours will probably complain. Honestly i have know that there was a problem with those skimmers. So next question....is there a replacement that i could do without making too many other mods. I am not good with drilling holes or stuff like that. I am a girl !!! lol. So in short need to know if there is a skimmer (not too pricy) that i would just slide the old one out and replace with the new??? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hello Zandy I think the new 9004 Tunze Nano skimmer would do the business, perhaps once Butcherrman has looked he might be able to advise you better.
