Hello, im having problems feeding my BTA... As soon as i feed it, the cleaner shrimp will try and steal its food. This in turn will result in a min or 2min tug of war between the 2 (With the BTA losing most of the time...) ive tried netting the shrimp while feeding the BTA but whenever i try he storms under his rock... Any suggestions? As the only way the BTA eats now is me standing there for 20mins waving a net @ the damb shrimp...

I feed my nemmies lancefish and have had similar problems, the lance makes the shrimps, hermits and trigger go insane.

The best way I have got around this is feeding lancefish to the shrimps first, in a different location (opposite side of the tank) while they all fighting over this feed the nemmie, but the time they figure there is more food the nemmie has swallowed it.

I would suggest sim as what Warr said. Give the shrimp something big to eat far away for BTA.

Get a 2lt coke bottle, cut the top 150mm off it, attach a pipe to the end of the bottle and place the "feeding cage" over the nem, and drop the food down the pipe, et voila, one fed nem, one shrimp left out.

If your nemmie, can't swallow the food fed to him in the time it takes a shrimp it cross the 4ft tank (5secs), then he ain't that hungry.

My nemmie will engulf their food within 3/4 seconds of it touching a tentacle.

Are you maybe not feeding it to regularly ?

Well i give 1-0 to the shrimp since the BTA is new (1 week), filling the loss of my Cowfish. BUT your right this shrimp is insane, even if the BTA is new. And its small, like 10cm. But ile try Wee-Mans idea.

I think that shrimp may have one or two issues, may need some serious counseling. Weemans advice works great at target feeding most corals, it will definitely work. Dont feed large pieces, i normally feed food grated up fairly fine and then the shrimp will only be able to pick around the nenny.
