At the moment i'm running my lights for about 10 hours a day. Is it possible to push this up to about 11 or 12 hours? I just hate how I don't see the tank in the morning, then only for a few hours at night when i'm home...

One option is to have all the lights on for 4-6 hours a day and run partial lights for the other 6-8 hours.

Matt get yourself a little RIO light that you can attach and shine in from the side. I use the one with half blue and half white led's

Matt they come as different options. They have 10 led's. You get just white, mix half blue half white and all blue. I suppose you can use the blue one as a moonlight.

I like the mixed one while I am up so I can still have a goos view of what is happening in the tank. Amazing to see the life that takes over when the main lights are off.

matt - i run my jbj 24g nano lights on a timer - they come on at 7am -10am then off from 10am to 3pm then on again from 3 to 9pm - tank is doing fantastic

also i do not have a chiller so the off period during the hottest part of the day maintains my temp at 26

Hi guys - Alfie - glad to see that you too got some of those lights. Yeah - they are AWESOME. I have 2 of them on my 2 metre.... They use up so little energy/electricity - so, mine stays on 24 hours...It give a COMPLETELY different look and feel to the tank. And, the extra blue they cast assists with the "actinics" during the daytime...
