Hi after my gps returning to normal my torch coral appears to be dying. It maybe brown jelly but I'm not seeing much slime.

The coral had 4 heads and I broke it apart to try and save the 2 that isn't badly affected.

What treatment should I do. Also how do I know if its dead. Tried smelling but it just smelt like the sea.

My parameters are good and all other coral doing ok, except maybe my Kenya tree but he may just be sulking coz he was moved.

    Thanks.

I've got bad news for you if it's brown jelly disease. It spreads very fast between the heads. You can dip the coral in iodine and cut of the infected heads until the disease does not return.

Sometimes it can spread down stream but usually it will attack a LPS that is weak or injured.

Do you have a picture of the infected coral?

Is the torch a new addition to your tank?

    hi all

The torch has been in the tank now for a couple of weeks, was doing great.
i have since taken out the piece that was looking completely damages as i do not want it to affect my other coral especially as my kenya tree has not been looking good as well.

i have lost my pictures of it, so will retake tonight.

we did have a power outage on Thursday which lasted about 12 hours. which may have triggered all this

Hi @zakiyya, a friend had a torch that was doing well for 4 or 5 weeks then all of a sudden it started to look like the tentacles were not extending as much as it was and also the color went very dull from then on it started to get a brown film over the one head and then completely took over the torch never made it..
