how about a picture of the coral so we can help identify exactly what is wrong.

Sometimes I ve noticed with torches that before the head divides ( grows a new branch ) the polyps on that head hide away for a little while beforehand. Hows it looking now ?

How long had the head been closed.
In a healthy system, all euphilia corals should occasionally close up to expell wastes.
I have 14 different euphillia corals, & they all close up at least once or twice a week.
As long as the torch isnt getting brown jelly disease, it will be fine. (Not to be missjudged with brown stringy excremate)

Mine almost always close up about 1-3 hours after i fed them & stay closed for up to an hour before it opens back up again...
Please upload a pic if its still closed.

I have a rather large torch coral and the only times it has closed almost completely is when my water got too cold. Like ~20c :-(
