What light and flow are they getting - you also said he bought them yesterday, did he aclimatize them? They can take up to a week to settle in

Give them another day, what lights and flow does he have in his tank?
Softies like moderate flow, torches like lots of light.

He has T5's and is high up in te tank. Flow is return pump and a powerhead.

Thanks for the help. I'll let him know that he can relax.

I would strongly suggest listening to @LCornelius and also doing some research on the net.

LPS are not to fond of high flow and even some can be a little shy of high lighting.
    If he has them
in the tank it could be that they not use to as much lighting before and have a little light shy going on there.

In this case you need to find the right balance

    Hi Kalvyn

I am using T5 lighting and have frogspawn and hammer coral in my tank but they are situated on the substrate. They are in, I would guess, a moderate flow and they have opened up nicely since I put them in when my tank was also about 2 months old.

    Hope your friend comes right.

Another trick your friend might try is to switch the flow pump (not return pump) off for 12 hours. I used this trick when I added the BTA to my tank. Like I said, give it a day or 2 before taking the next steps.

Just give them time to settle in. they prefer medium flow and medium to high light.

Thanks all. I was at his tank tonight. Everything is looking good. He has switch off the powerhead. He'll wait and see what happens.
