My tomato is 7cm big( i tought it was 10cm), and i want to get him a partner(mate).
So i heard that i need to get a tomato that is almost half his size.
O.k i did this yesterday, but my Monster clown wasn't vey imprest with the new guy in town.
I placed the little guy in tank stil in bag, after a few seconds my big tomato attacked the bag the whole time, this was hectic!
After a few hours he seemed to be done.

So i took the little guy and placed him in the tank......then it looked like something from "JAWS" dudu....dudu....dudu...!!!!!!

The baby tomato craped in my tank, he swam for his live(poor little guy).
I turned off the lights and went out, later that night i saw the little guy swimming near my intlet(he was shreaded to pieces, still alive).
I placed him in my sump.

Do you think i must take my big one out and place him in the sump and put my small one in DT for a few days and then add the big one???

Hi Lanzo - I am really sorry to hear this. Yes - do as Ocean suggested - catch out the big clown & for a few days leave him in the sump. Give the new little clown a chance to grow stronger, while feeding him. Then - once the new guy is swimming around and looking happy, place the big clown back. Good luck with this.

WTF is a good question.... if you do a little google search on Tomato Clownfish, Red Clown Fish, Fire Anemonefish or Amphiprion frenatus you will see that they are extremely agro and should be introduced to the tank at the same time and at the same size.

There are many threads all over the new about impulse buys.... its a bad bad bad thing in marine tanks

Hi Henk - I added my second tomato clown LONG after I had the first tomato clown. And yes - the second one tried to beat up on the first one - for a very short while. AND I had enough hiding place. Now, a few months down the line, the two have paired up. They are now a happily "married couple"....
It's just like in human life - girl does not like boy - boy likes girl - few months down the line girl starts to like boy - they make up - and pair up! ;-)

Clarki must be quite vicious.

I have a perc and maroon and they love each other, hosted by a Heliofungia ?
