Still playing around with my stocking list and was considering a toby ? Specific species I am looking at are:

    C. natalensis
    C papua
    C valentinni
C pygmaea (if i can get one)

Whats your experiences with tobys in terms of nipping etc.

Hey Frans as Trev said C papua (false-eye toby) is not reef safe however if you remember the meet we had at Tim's place (the last meet you came to) he has a C papua & had no hassle with his 1. I have a C papua (false-eye toby) available which is at Perky Pets if you want him? He's a great GHA chomper, loves inverts (glass shrimp & enriched adult brine shrimp his favorite) & mows down little star polyps/zoa but leaves palys, shrooms & other softies. As to nipping other fish, haven't seen a bite in anyone's fins.

Frans, how would the C valentinni react to other tanks mates?
What do you plan to keep in your tank with him?

As long as the other tank mates aren't aggressive as the C valentinni is quite a mellow toby I never had any issues when I had 1 except when he committed suicide by jumping out of the tank. .

C papua (false-eye toby) are totally not reef-safe especially when it comes to softies and reef inmates such as shrimps
