Hello. For the first time in 8 years tiny jellyfish have started popping up out of nowhere in my tank, they float all the way to the top of the water and sit there since they cant go any further. Any ideas on how to keep them alive? Or should I toss them? In new territory here.

Are you sure it's jellies? I've never heard of this happening. Can you post some pics please?

I found a baby jellyfish in my tank the other day aswell but I'm pretty sure that I scooped him up with my water for a water change. I removed it from my tank as I'm not sure what effects it would have on my tank wen it dies , it is just a matter of time before they will get chopped to bits in a flow pump.
I would remove them if I were you

That's very cool! It looks a bit like an upside down jellyfish, but could also be something else...that's just to small for me to ID. If it's an upside down jelly your lucky. Most of them are photosynthetic and can survive in a reef with some mods to the filtration. Read some info on the net and decide if you want to keep them, but as weezle said they will probably die if you don't make special considerations for them.

Do you think it came from live rock or nsw?

I honestly have no idea where they came from, it must be the rock since I havent done water changes in 2 Years, my filtration is self maintained by Xenia

It could be a medusa stage of a cnidrian which came with your rock? They resemble small jellies when swimming about during this stage

They are very cool to watch,
Also had jellies in my tank, assumed they got in after a NSW change.

It's virtually impossible to keep them alive.
