    Greetings Reefers...

I am thinking of using one of my aqua macro wave pumps to make a wavebox. I have a question for anyone who's tried this before.

The minimum setting on the wave pump is 10secs. So it goes on a maximum speed for 10secs and then drops to a minimum speed for about 2 seconds. Would this setting work on a wavebox or does the pump have to switch totally off for the box to fill up?

My tank is a standard 2 meter tank. Im not looking for a tsunami, but maybe a wave of about an inch.

Should be fine, but for a wave the tank must be properly braced for it

Thanks guys. The tank is braced really well and the seems are solid. So a small wave will allow me to sleep at night. Any tips on how the box should be built? I was thinking of having air holes at the top and the only outlet/inlet for water being the hole for the front of the pump. How should i calculate the vertical length of the box?

@Nemos Janitor Will the lenght of the tank not make up for the 10sec pulse?

Hey guys... any idea if the switching of just low to high and nit on off can work in a box? The water level should still be able to drop and rise according to the speed of the pump? Will this achieve the swaying of the water to get the wave movement on corals and fish?
