So.... I have been planning and waiting for the stuff to come. I am in the process of building my 240 liter shallow reef tank with almost all of it diy. The stand was built yesterday and I am busy doing the final touches. It will be a lps and sps dominate tank.

Stocking will be:

1x yellow eye kole tang
1x yellow tang
2x bangaii cardinals
2x black percula clowns
1x lawnmower blenny
2x mandarins

Coral list:

Acropora
Montipora
Lumo Candy cane
War favia
Pulsing Xenia on separate rock work
Green star polyps also on a separate rock work
Toadstool
Leather tree
Sun coral
Hammer
Frogspawn
Elkhorn
Kenya tree
Birdsnest
Acans
Bubble corals

The dimensions of the tank is 102cm long by 62cm wide by 40cm high.
The stand is 100cm high 100cm long and 62cm wide.

Will keep you guys updated and show every step...

Sounds good, Im not part of the tang police, but a 40 heigh tank might not be a good idea for tangs.

Good luck with the build, looking forward to more pics!

The tank is designed after the innovative marine cushion 50 gallon lagoon, but this will be the "bigger brother" of that one.

I rekon you should put a bottom into your stand, i wouldn't stand the sump directly on the floor. This makes a difference when you need to syphon the sump out and other things.

I also wouldn't put those two tangs in that size tank, and a lawnmower blenny, three herbivores in such a small space, it will be a challenge to have enough food. Same with the mandarins.

Just my opinions, otherwise i love the tank dimensions, im thinking about doing a similar build.
