Ok guys, I am getting the mooring now. Just wanted to get some tips and secrets into the whole filter sock cleaning regime. What is yours that is quick and efficient to cleaning them. The R160 bubble magus sock lasts me about a week then it's in the kitchen sink for the cleaning and scrubbing routine. However the period between new sock to after maybe 4 uses comes down to only lasting about 3 days, and they damn expensive to keep replacing them. What's your secret to cleaning

I soak mine for a day or two in pool chlorine and water. Then into the washing machine on the quick cycle with no detergent....then they go into a container with ro ubtil i use them...works great for me.

I take mine out, turn it inside out and give it a rinse with the hose pipe.

After that I but it in bleach and leave it for a day...

Then just a good rinse and leave it to dry...

Yeah...pool golbler socks are useless...only catch big stuff...the fine stuff still makes its way through. The reef octo socks are awesome...79bucks for three with a free holder ring...

I find the nylon bags last longer and clean easier. They are more expensive than the material ones but so much easier. I have some filter matting on top of my filter sock chamber to catch the big stuff first. That way the socks need leas cleaning. The filter matting is also much cheaper and easier to replace.

Where do you buy the reef octo bag setup?
