A very WARM WELCOME to MASA, Jono! Great that you have found us (via Tobes)! I am extremely glad that you have decided to join us!

Look - it is great that you have decided that you also want to be a marine aquarist/reefkeeper! We are here to assist you with every step along the way!

    Please just note:
IT REQUIRES A HUGE AMOUNT OF PATIENCE, and SOME expendable income (this "some" can be a greater or lesser amount - depending on which routes you tank).

Firstly, have a look at the threads in our "Members' tanks and Setups". There you will get a very good idea of what you would like to achieve. Make this setup your goal. Have a look at what they have, and have done, to achieve this themselves....
Then come back, and ask questions, more questions, and even more questions.

Regarding the keeping of an anemone: This should only be attempted at least 8 months to a year after you started the tank. Because anemone's CAN be very difficult to keep happy.

The biggest secrets to keep an anemone, for any length of time: it ensure that it is happy. For MOST anemone's, this means:
    - getting the formula for the lighting above the tank right
    - getting the water chemical parameters extremely stable
    - getting the water FLOW formula right (for the anemone)
    - and target FEEDING the anemone!

Regarding the clown-fish - they do not specifically NEED a nemmie to be happy in a reef tank. BUT, I agree - it is adorable to see them host in an anemone ;)

I have 4 nemmies. And this in a 2 metre tank (+-870 litres of sea water).

Also - remember to ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS as it takes, for you to become the most successful reefkeeper YOU can be! There's no such thing as a "stupid" question - only the one you DON'T ask!

Please READ as much as you can, even BEFORE you can THINK of purchasing a tank.
Look at what you need, BEFOREHAND - you do not require EVERYTHING in the beginning, but you do need to budget for certain things.

Good luck in your journey into keeping marines! May it be a SUPER SUCCESSFUL ONE!

    Welcome to MASA jonove.
My choice on a cube around that size would be 600*600*450 with the water level at 400mm.
