The Nassarius snails are hatching...

    The eggs that were layed earlier this week started to hatch about half an hour ago... Clouds of larvae? are floating around my tank and the soft corals are having a ball... I really hope that I'm not going to have massive die-off of snails now and nitrate and ammonia spikes??? :eek: Advice on this would be appreciated...

    Sorry photo maniacs but this is WAAAAY too small for pics...

    and i suppose there is no way you can catch these little snails..and put them into another tank...?:baffled:

    They go through a standard fish net... They are MINUTE... wish I had a microscope... :biggrin:

    Too late now... They all hatched and disappeared somewhere... :lol:

    Looking this morning I have thousands of very tiny snails cruizing around in my tank... Now what???

    it would be if they ate algae:p...nassarius are cuc, meat eaters mainly

    I'll swap some for some algae eating snails that have bred in my tank if you like. I have Stomatella and another little snail (no ID yet).

    I'll keep you guys posted... And yes, the adults LOVE hake... :biggrin: Starting a bit of a species tank here... :lol:

    Oh and the larvae are to cute... They 'run' REALLY fast for snails... :biggrin:
