after much searching i have decided to make a dedicated forum for cube owners to show off their stuff!!

its rather difficult to find pictures on the web of scaping and actual tanks and sumps.
i am hoping this thread will help people with cubes to better their own cubes by seeing others!

any cube, or cube-like tanks are welcome!
(with the exception of nanos, they deserve their own catagory)

so guys, feel free to post pictures and tell members about your tank!!

    Hey Furbz

Ultimate reef and reef central are your best bet for ideas on cube scaping and ideas.

I'm more interested in the Cube sump options. I think a cube is beautifull but I found the sump layout and size to be very limiting in options. First thing, the DSB is normally too small.

Also on a 800mm cube the lightning options is another issue. No 39w T5's, tubes are just too long. So MH is only option be it 150 or 250w. On a 900mm or 1m like Mekaeel cube this should not be a problem.

I'm planning a 800mm cube (for one day). Viewable from 3 sides. So I would love to see other designs.

    Hey Riaan

Your best option on a 800mm cube is to have the sump located separate from the stand. Look at Submariners cube for some ideas

    Thanks Riyadh :)
You are 100% correct regarding the lighting Riaan. One a one meter it makes it so much easier to add T5's to it.
Just to give you guys a break down on what lighting I had, in the the center it was 2*250W SE 12K MH's, and on either side of the MH's there was 2*39W T5 pendants consisting of 1*10K and 1*20K T5.

my planned system is pretty set.
as i am buying a second hand cube.

    800 x 800 x 600 rimless reef octopus cube (was imported)
    has a IM overflow.
sump underneath in a neat black cabinet.
    lighting i have a 250W 14000k halide sumpilmented by 2 x 24W giesemann 20000k globes. (a pendant)

    gonna be sick!!

now the sump has 3 compartments.

the 1st is very small and will only fit a overflow pipe.
the 2nd a dsb with cheato
    3rd return

i am going to set it up using the orca skimmer
and have the overflow drain directly into the skimmer inlet,
the outlet of the skimmer will then loop around and pump the skimmed water to the 1st chamber.
the over the 2nd chamber with DSB cheato etc.
and the 3rd will have the return pump, maybe a 2nd skimmer, the pump for my chiller, and my carbon pho reactor pump.

as the sump is longer than it wide, the extra space at the front will house a extra tank to use for my auto top up.

    all and all pretty kitted!!

just hope i can squeeze it all in there!!
