    Hi Reefers,

    Please mind my topic name,I'm so excited,for those of you where assisting with my thread ,"building a reef tank"


    Got my tank yesterday


    Tank specs are:


    1.9m lenght
    65cm depth
    65cm height
    10mm glass
    20mm base
    5 x 10mm braces on top of the tank
    Internal overflow


    1000litre system


    802 litres In the display
    200 some odd in the sump
    Last column in sump to be used a as QT

    that's a big tank .. well done
    what other equipment do you have or planing to get... when is the tank getting wet?

    Lol,if I could help it I'll be filling it up now,

    Got a 8000l return pump,my skimmer and power head will do the trick but then my cube sits,going to check for a skimmer and head tomorrow,got two huge pieces of lava rock,actually thinking of cutting it into about 10 pieces,looking for some pick Fiji sand as well.

    sounds good.. I've heard about lava rock but never seen any actually.. if you don't mind upload some pics please... I can imagine the lava rock will look awesome on the pink sand or even black aragonite... it will look really Hawaiian authentic

    Nice size tank! Lots of space to work with, as for the return pump I think its a bit big, maybe put a control valve on the return line so if the flow is too much you can reduce it. My system is about 1500l and I am running a 5000l/h pump and it is enough for my system as far as circulation goes. To help with flow in my tank I have 2 sicce V7 pumps but I am planning on running a extra pump for a closed loop system. I hope it my help a bit.:thumbup:

    At first when I looked at the pic i thought it was a Shower cubicle with shelfs !!! :lol:

    Got a control valve on the plumbing for the return for adjustment ,filling up on Monday,


    Minister of finance bought me a skimmer and power head today(alot of convincing involved)

    Got a SEIO 6000l/ph and a Bubble magus cones skimmer 2150l/ph

    Dont know if im going to use another power head as im goin to use my return as flow as well,

    Going to play around with the control valve on the return to get the desired flow
