Would someone help me out by recommending some good brands of test kits pls.
Fed up with Red Sea and want to buy something decent.
Also where I can buy them in JHB.
My LFS has Sera (not sure about this one),Red Sea (sucks!) and Tropic Marin.
Is the Tropic Marine any good as I'm considering getting the whole lab or is there something better I should be going for?

I have hager and tropic marine and no problems with them. :whistling:
 
Yeah a lot of people on another forum are telling me : use Salifert

I use TM and Elos
 
One thing I should mention is the Elos KH test which I hate as the transition from blue to yellow is very difficuilt to distinguish. I hardly use it. The tropic Marin KH test is far better although I use API and am happy with it. If you want extremely accurate results for your calcium go for the TM which will give result to a ppm. The Elos is fine for general within 10ppm readings. The same applies for the magnesium test. The Elos nitrate test is good value for money and you will get a lot of tests out of a kit. There was a problem a while ago with the TM nitrate test where it was giving false zero readings but they have sorted it out
