    Hi All,

Been a member on MASA for quite a while - not a very active poster but avid reader.

So it's about time I started a tank thread.

Firstly some basic info and tank specs

Display - 70x70x70 starphire cube, skinny rear overflow. Display volume about 300 litres taking into account water displacement

Sump also square, holds about another80 litres of water. 3 compartments, Chamber 1: Media reactor (running Rowaphos in this) and Skimmer *Bubble Magus NAC 7.
Chamber 2 - small DSB (playsand and some aragonite, Chamber 3 - Return Pump.

    Lighting - Aquaria LMB 60 Lighting hood (4 x24W T5's, all blue, 1x250W MH 12000K)

    Flow - 2 x Sun Sun pumps - JVP 202 and a JVP 201.

About 7kg live rock and 20kg Caribsea Primo Reef Rock.

Substrate - Caribsea Aragonite - forgot the brand

    Some pics to follow :yeahdude:

Live Stock - Fish - 3x Blue-Green Chromis, 3 x clowns (2 ocellaris, 1 percula), banggai cardinal, cleaner wrasse, scooter blenny, royal dottyback

Corals - lots of zoa's - all frags I got from Rakabos, Mariusmeyer and Brent. Some have grown out quite nicely - others not at all but I suppose that's normal?, green mushrooms, bali polyps and blastomussa. The blastomussa was a bit of a mistake - did not want to have any hard corals- it looked like (and was sold as) orange mushrooms.

Others - 2 cleaner shrimps, 2 brittle stars, tube worm, a few hermits and snails including two nassarius snails and a sand sifting star,

All in all the tank has been running for about 6 months now.

    Hey Albert,

Looking good, I also love the scaping! Got a question for you on the glass, was the starphire glass worth the extra cost?

I bought the tank second-hand for a good price so cannot really comment on the cost difference. Personally though I don't think it makes a hell of a lot of difference - especially on 10mm glass - may be more significant on thicker glass.

    Hey Albert,

Thanks for the reply man. Valid point on the 10mm glass, think Im going to have to ask in a general thread and see what response I get.

Cheers and all the best with your cube, love it.

Blueberry gorgonian I picked up on Saturday. It's about 10-12cm high and wide. At the moment I am adding Brightwell Aquatics Reef Snow to my water to feed it. @Visser pic you asked for

    WOW, that is stunning!!!
Thats why i love gorgonians!!! They are unique in every sense of the word!
Just give it a soft brush to get that debris off it & it will be ready to go!!!

the false gramma VS the clowns.
Is the gramma aggressive towards the clowns. Your tank is not a nano ( 70*70) but just asking. Tank in mind is a cube 45*45.

    Hi Riaan,

I do not have any aggression issues between the false gramma and the clowns. The false gramma tends to stay around the rocks mostly and the clowns swim more in the water column itself. The false gramma did initially hassle the bicolor angel a bit (when I added it about 3 weeks ago) but all is now calm and peaceful between the inhabitants.

I am at my stocking max in terms of fish now so want to concentrate on collecting some nice coloured, unusual softies - also would like to add a few more snails and hermits to my clean-up crew - possibly a cleaner shrimp as well.

Unfortunately the blueberry gorgonian withered away - it did not last a month.

Battery back-up still going strong. I have not really had to use it yet, but do test it every now and then. I did have to get a new return pump (DC) because the one I had did not work with the back-up.

You still need to start a thread on your tank - unless I have missed it somewhere along the line. I am sure everyone would love to see more of your amazing system.
