I think phosphate remover is not used by everyone and is not always necessary.

    - Always read the instructions on additives.
    - Stable parameters should be your first concern.

Lappies the standard operating procedure is to buy a R50 item, and the R2000 item, then toss the R2000 slip and shove the other in the box with the item (I mean they always find it, make sure its the faux slip):whistling:

    Verily I say unto thee:

    1. Thou shalt not overstock thine tank, lest thou be cursed with nuisance algae.
    2. Thou shalt not over feed (but also not under feed...).
    3. Thou shalt do regular partial water changes.
    4. Thou shalt only keep compatible animals.
    5. Thou shalt have the correct lights if thou wantst to keep corals, anemones or clams.
    6. Though shalt not skimp on pumps to ensure good water movement.
    7. Thou shalt use skimmers of adequate capacity.
    8. Thou shalt use enough live rock and/or a deep live sand bed to ensure good water quality.
    9. Thou shalt ensure that the cycle has completed before any livestock is introduced.
    10. Thou shalt have respect for all of God's creatures thou keepest in captivity.

    So endith the sermon :)

I do not agree. After reading a few articles, especially from Eric Borneman, I think one can overskim and there are more natural ways to limit nutriets, like turf algae scrubbers. Mything the Point, Part Three: Conclusion - Reefkeeping.com
