    hi

I currently have a tank stand with a wooden top. My question is should i remove the wooden top when i put a tank ontop, the tank will be 1200*700*560, same as the stand.

    Thanks

No, leave the wood, but add a layer of polystyrene on top of the wood then put the tank on top of that. Minimum 10mm thick polystyrene. Is the stand properly made to hold up the weight of that sized tank?

Does your bottom include a floating bottom?
My experience is that single bottoms on wood tend to break more easily than if the tank (with polystyrene) is standing directly on a properly built stand. I understand it is all about the difference in temperature expansion / movement of wood and glass, but I suspect wet wood have a greater impact on this.

    Just my 2c

Floating bottom? The wood top seems like it's glued to the metal frame. It dow have some bit of an edge; so when placing the tank should i make it as big as rhe wood or the metal frame underneath?

I'm wondering if the corners of the tank would put enough stress on the wood's corner to cause a problem.
