    Hi Guys

Are there standard sizes for marine tanks. If there is what are they, I am looking at building one 1800mm[l] x 800[w] x 800[h] is this OK?

I have a choice of having it in the centre of the room or against a wall wich is better?

Sounds like a great size and i look forward to seeing it, there are no standard sizes, but think of any maintenance you need to do, will you be able to reach the bottom without a snorkel? believe me you will need to reach in at some point, so as long as you have long arms or don't mind getting wet then go for it.

I'm with Mike on the depth. It's a bit difficuilt to maintain a tank that deep. It may also need bracing for support and thick glass. I like a tank in the middle of the room although it will require more corals to fill all dimensions of the tank

welcome, i have personally opted for shallower tanks and rather raised the stand to give the illlusion of a bigger tank.. i just found a tank of .600 easier to get to the bottom of..

also using the correct thickness glass , over 600mm you cant use 10mm glass , and make sure you got proper braces at the top of the tank
