I am getting married on 21 October and we are going on honeymoon for two weeks. If anybody close-by would look after my tank it would be great. I will drop it off at your house and pick it up again after. I will not blame you for any losses but it would be nice if everything will survive. Check my tank thread for details on the setup. Very low maintenance. 10% weekly waterchange (I will provide NSW) and some feeding is all it takes. Lights are on a timer and no evaporation or additives needed. I change the filter floss weekly during the waterchange. Really simple and low maitenance tank. Anybody?

Guess it depends on where in CPT you are? If none of the more senior folk are able, i could help (close to Tygervalley mall).

Now this is something that could work for me as well. This is my biggest reason for not wanting to go anywhere. Always worried about the tank. I am also going to the UK in October for 12 days and thankfully Adriaan agreed to "babysit". But its such a schlep... he is in Midrand and I am in Vereeniging. For now my problem is solved. But it would be great if we could organise a "sitting club" in our area. I would'nt mind to look after someones setup. How about it, any ideas???

Thanks @Lucas and @Arries ... I will keep you guys in mind and PM you closer to the time...

Everybody on the forum are so helpful... I think if you guys up North just ask you will find someone...

Maybe the mods can start a section like that for us on the forum where you can advertise for someone to help out while you are on holiday?

Moving tanks around to go on holiday is stupid & iresponsible which would do more harm than good rather have someone come to your house to feed & do a little maintinance, it's safer that way. No stress, No loss. Just my 2c

I agree with Mistraorange. My tank is not "really" the carry-around-type. LOL. Not that I've seen the carry-around-type. But anyway, I need someone that can come around just to make sure everything is fine and do the odd maintenance (cleaning the skimmer etc) job. I have a person that lives in that feeds the fish, but more than that she cannot do!

Whatever your needs, the social group is there for you to make it clear... My tank is 25l and I can easily remove 5l and 'seal' the tank for a quick 5min drive somewhere... My livestock are tough ( I stir EVERYTHING up when cleaning once a month) and my scaping is stable... I have already do everything to this tank that it would experience on a quick move and everything handles it fine... Now tell me I'm stupid again... :)
