I need help from the experts here, i want to fill my tank up and i just wanted to see if it level and guess what its not, i have a suspicion that my floor isnt level,

but more importantly is this dangerous for my tank ? i dont have a picture as yet, but if i were to describe the way the spirit level looks ( the bubble is on the tip of the first line on your left )

i also lifted the tank and placed 5 washers on the front and back of the right side. is this correct ?

    please help urgently

    thanks

Need that tank on a level stand/surface the glass won't handle the flex and will crack.

If the stand ain't level then you will have a weird water level which could cause problems with your overflow etc.

How big is this tank ?

Remember 500L is around half a ton of just water, let alone the glass. Rather get a steel plate or something a little more substantial. If those washers move your tank is going crack and leak etc.

try some rubber sheets or a thin plate of wood that always works

as warren said, polystyrene helps a bit, depending on the stand config you could also use "screw in feet to get it level do this before filling or yo wont be able to move the screws

Having the tank on a few washers would create some serious point-loads in the glass directly above the washers - NOT GOOD :nono:

If the tank is only supported on the rim (which is quite risky in any case...), then you would have to shim the entire perimeter, and that won't be easy. Rather shim the bottom of the stand (on the floor...), if that is possible.

If the tank is supported over it's entire bottom you could just create a "dam" around the perimeter with a piece of string glued to the top of the stand, and then pour in some self-leveling epoxy or glass-fiber resin (a few mm's thick would be enough) - this should level out the support quite nicely, and make it waterproof as well.
