hi guys.I went to j-bay for 3days and collected alot of oyster shells and what looks like white bleached rocks but I found it to be shells covered in a white calcium?
i was wondering if i could stick it together with pratleys and decorate the tank ?
It resembles pieces of rock with little holes in it.
Would i have to cure it to avoid a ammonia spike etc..or could i just treat it another way and put it into the tank?
please advise me on this as i dont want to do anything that would put the fish at risk, but these pieces would look cool in the tank .
    thanx:biggrin:

It's difficult to say without some pics. My only concern is that it's not cured and you would probably have a mini cycle...

I found all these pieces far from the waves and it looked like they were all bleached from being in the sun for awhile.
Would i have to cure them or can i just boil them for a few hours ?
The reason for this is that im struggling to convince the boss to get some live rock to make the tank more decorative but that is not going to well
My intention is to stick alot of the pieces together with some pratleys putty and just change the tanks landscape a bit so the emperor can have a few more hidey holes.
The problem is that im leaving for good in 7 days and im busy teaching the new manager how to maintain and feed my babies properly, and before i leave i intend on giving the tank a big clean and adding these pieces to try make the tank look as cool as possible.
I cant wait to leave work itself but im really gonna miss looking after my adopted children, anyway please advise me on the best way to go about this .
    much appreciated:)
