Best would be to replace the back. You dont want a leaking tank after it is filled up and almost done cycling.

Or even worst wake up to a room filled with water.

Dont know about someone that can repair in your area.

    Sorry about the tank though

Oh thats not nice. You will have to replace the entire pane.

If your not comfortable doing the replacement your self and cant find someone to fix it for you, look for a glass & aluminium place in Kimberley. These type of guys usually know there stuff when it comes to glass maybe they will do the repair for you. These type of companies always advertise in the those home makers booklets one gets in the post.

Hey bud that is sad. If it was my tank I would hold the courier company responsible and ask them to replace the glass or the entire tank.

Does that elbow stick outside the crate at all?

    If not.
Then take more pictures. Especially from the sides to show that it is not sticking out. And claim it from the company who did the move. You did all precautions. They knew it was glass. The can see it is glass. And still they stuff it up. Their mistake, their responsibility. Even if you had to sign an aggreement that they take not responsibility and all risks lies with you. You do have proof that you did do all you could to minimize the risk. They cannot simply drop and damage goods after your precautions.

this is where i have to agree with RiaanP if you have taken all precautions to minimize damage and they still end up breaking it, especially with a fork lift i will force them to pay for replacing the glass and any other repairs that needs be done.
