tank build calculator.. help

    i wonder of somone could help me,

    im wanting to draw up an excel worksheet to calculate the cost of a piece of glass this is what i had in mind

    qty of glass x measurement 1 x measurement 2 = M2 x Rate of glass = total + vat = total vat incl.

    then total all the vat incl amonts to a total.

    can anyone assist me i keep doing something wrong but i must admit my knowledge of excel is not good at all..

    only thing is the rate may not be constant for a cut piece of glass, because of the size there may be wastage etc which the glass co. will charge you for. It the same for carpets the square mtr price is difference to the price per running mtr

    thanks warr, im having the same trouble with yours as with mine..

    see the end figure if one piece of glass @1m2 is R544.92 then 2 pieces should be R1089.84 not R611.84

    se my problem

    very cool guys

    but as trad said...one should keep wastage in mind as well as enter the qty's & dimensions for bracing etc

    cool dude thanks, i usually go slightly higher on the sate by a rand or 2 to build in the loss factor. this is just to be able to give people an idea of what they are in for by the time they usually make up their minds something has gone up...

    ok got it.. just finished doing one i think its going to work now just to test it with a few other rates
