Need some advice ASAPish, whole back pane of my tank cracked about 20 min ago, was a week away from putting live stock in which sucks but at least there were no casualties.

Wrt to LR and LS, i have the lr in the sump with the skimmer circulating and the rest of it in in a cooler box with a little powerhead. New tank will be arriving thursday (big cube) but will this be enough to keep the LR alive?

What should i do with my LS (fine crushed coral) i was thinking now could be a good time to put argonite in to the new tank when it arrives but until i decide how should i keep it? currently its in the DT with water level just below the crack.

    will post pics now.

As long as there is surface movement and circulation for gas exchange then it will be fine. Obviously temp and salinity as well :p

Perhaps get a bigger pump for the cooler box and maybe an airstone.

As for the live sand if you can keep it in a container like your live rock, but know that it will loose most of its bacteria. if you were going to replace with argonite now is a good time to do so.

    Shot,

Getting the dimensions off to the builder tonight to get my new tank built asap.

Thinking 600x500x400. black silicone. or should i go 600x600x400? thoughts?

Lighting is 4 T5's. Unit is 600 wide so limited to that dimension.

Its a weird location, possibly a hairline crack or micro chip that was unseen prior to filling and worsened with expansion and contraction over a few days..

you can never be 100% sure. what mm is the glass? 6?

no, its really thin glass, was a fw tank before, got it for free so couldnt complain.

The crack runs directly to where the hole for the overflow was drilled which leads me to believe it had a tiny fault around there and then the whole think just let go.
