Tang Question

    My tangs have lumpy stomaches, is that normal?

    It is possible they have worms, if you can post a pic i will see if i can get it looked at by an expert in fish health

    Warren, i have posted this for a fish health expert to look at, i will report back if he gives any advice.

    my tangs sometimes get it when a ffeed alot of nori but soon goes down when the poop

    My tangs never stop eating Nori. They consume 2 x A4 sheets a day. But then I have been told you can feed them as much as they can eat ?

    Hi Warr - my tangs sometimes have "lumpy stomaches" after they have gulped down too much of Henk's Veggie pellets.... They absolutely LOVE the stuff...

    I give my tangs 1 sheet of nori every two days or so.....Which they devour within a few hours of course....

    BUT - I must say - my tangs are NEARLY as fat as I am ;-)

    So you reckon 2 sheets per a day for 2 tangs might be a bit too much ?

    Far too much, you must fill your skimmer cup with tang poo every day, cut them down to half a sheet between them per day, otherwise you will just end up with fat tangs and a brown tank:lol:

    Well - I have 5 tangs, two pygmy angels and a midasblenny (who all chows the nori). I feed only one sheet per day. BUT, I also feed Omega One Veggie Pellets in the evenings as well....

    "a bath in praziquentel or flubenol" was the advice i have been given should the lumpy stomach look not go ibn a couple of good shits, it would indicate worms;)

    Cool I will monitor it, I have cut feeding down by 300%.

    This praziquentel or flubenol, is this worm medication ?

    Just to add;-"a 1-2 hour bath in a large container every day for a week should do it, best if the fish can live in a qt tank during this period."
