    Ok, so I wired a Osram 2x36w T8 ballast to run 4x 15W tubes for a mini frag tank going into a cupboard.

    I tested the whole setup outside the cupboard and it worked perfectly. Using the same wires (so length didn't change) I mounted the end-plugs in the cupboard and wired them to the ballast.

    Now when I switch on the ballast all 4 tubes turn on for a split second and then stays off.

    I checked the connections, shortened the wires even more, tried a few other things. Running out of ideas as what it might be. Can anyone help me out?

    @lIghty

    Thanks

    is there anything that could be electricly interfering ? electronic ballasts are finicky.

    Sorry, but don't know what else to advise, if it was working and now not, it could only be a connection problem?

    also, you will also over drive the bulbs a bit.

    Thanks,

    I'll go pick up some more end-caps tomorrow and rewire it outside the cupboard.. again.

    Maybe one of the other end-caps got damaged.

    Sorry I couldnt help with more info, but it seems like it could only be a connection, unless the ballast or tubes have popped?
