T8 ballast for T5

    any reason why a T8 ballast wont drive a T5?

    tagging along ....

    I tried this a while back and it just wouldn't work. The T5 globes just flashed the whole time and wouldn't stay on. It looked as if the ballast weren't strong enough to run the T5 globes.

    Unless i done something wrong!

    anyone know of cheap ballasts in jhb, not the R300 they want to charge etc...
    builders has t8 ballasts for like R50

    i got osram 54w ballasts for R180 at a local light shop.

    Was dual 54w ballasts, and not one gave the problem that voslo schawbe ballast sometimes has with lights going off when another set is turned on.

    Separate for each or up to 54?
    I have digital T5 ballasts that I am no longer using.
    I only used them for about 6 months when I did use them.

    i used a 30W T8 ballast on a 24W T5 bulb with no issues. always worked
