I would say make the water level +/- 200mm deep.

For holding purposes, you dont need actinics and at that depth (If the lights are mounted a few cms above that) you should be more than good with 2 * 54W T5 (I would go for 10 000K to encourage growth)

the tank is 91cmLx 32cmW x60cmH but it's only for few months, no sand bed or anything, just heater, lights and skimmer. Water level can be 30cm or depending the height of the monti and must be at least 10cm higher than the monti to do water changes and the light can be 10cm above the water level.

    Hi Xtreme

Fit as many T5's as you can in that area 4 will be sufficient, but I would go for 6 T5's. You can go for 3x10000K, 2xActinic and 1x20000K. This will give you decent coloration aswell as growth.

In terms of depth, keep the water clear by using activated carbon, and then you can place the corals where ever you wish. eg. My tank is 600 deep, and I have a Monti placed all the way at the bottom where he thrives. The T5 unit sits about 25cm's above water level. I will however be lowering the unit as soon as I get brackets made up for it.

Dude, if it is rapid growth you want, go for 6500 kelvin and supplement with a few 20000K (blue) bulbs. ;)
