In brands like Geisiman there is 10K, 15K and 20K.
Why do you run your lights 24/7? You shouldnt burn the bulbs for more than 12 hrs (max) a day.

I was also told that higher spectum lighting than 10 000K can sort of burn and hurt organisms to close to it, sorta like sunburn, Esp if they cant move.

    Is this true?

    Not exactly.
    6500K (Sunlight) - 15000K Will promote growth
20000K (Blue/Actinic) is there more for colouration.

    You must try replicate nature:
    6500K-10000K for day time +- 10am - 8pm
    14000K - 20000K for sun rise/set +- 8am - 9:30pm
    Moon light Blue led 10pm - 8am
Depending on stock depth of tank etc etc
