    hey all,

    me asking another question again.
    I just want to know, I had 4 T5 tubes (2X 12 000K and 2X actinic) in my tank.
my lightning had a yellowish apperance, so I decided to buy another 2 39W 12000K T5`s and wait for it,,,its still yellowish.
now, I wanted to get myself a 8X T5 unit but are worried about the yellow apperance. what would be best the 8XT5`s or a unit with 4Xt5`s +2 X150w MH?

    Paul

    Hi

I ran 8 t5's for a while, 4 actinic and 4 white 12000k and had no yellowish glow or appearance

The yellowish appearance could be from the water itself... Do you run carbon on your system?

Are you running an algea turf scrubber? if you dont clean it often enough it will also make the water yellow.

12000k Lamp does look yellowish to the eye.....is it reeftek lamps ?

rule of thumb is to go with more blue and less white

i had 4 white and 6 blue and my tank had a blueish color,id suggest invest in giessman lamps.

How deep is your tank? 8xT5 unit will be awesome and if you gonna go with reeftek tubes use 4x 10k 2x coral blue and 2x actinic , you won't have a yellow look at all.

If you tank is deep run 20k 150w BLV globes and subst. The MH with 10k and actinic tubes
