    Hi Guys

I have a quad T5 ballast, it came with 2 10000k white and 2 Actinic bulbs. I have extras now. I have tried 3 actinic and 1 white and vice versa.

I would like to know what combo's you guys use? I know this would fall under personal preference, but still good to know, better with pics:). So how many of each bulb? what combos, coral blue? purple? white?

more white than the pic you posted.

    Remember
Blue is for human eye pleasure
    White is for coral growth.

But too low K white, 6000K and algae grows even better. But if you can control your algae, and want really good coral growth, 6000K is not a bad option. After all, it is symbiotic algae within the corals. But it will look like pee water. Almost all the corals will look browned out and dull.

I'm thinking of 3 Actinic 6500k and one 10000k white, i know it would look much more blue. what are the implications on coral growth? i only have soft coral.

Well I only use ATI bulbs and my combo is :

    Blue Plus
    Purple Plus
    Actinic
    Coral Plus

I am not a fan of an overly blue tank.
