    Hi all,

    Currently i have a T5 light fixture with 4 T5 54 watts each.
soon i need to replace the bulbs....can someone tell me what is the best combination (as in light colour and wavelength) to have for the new bulbs?

    Thanks

You gonna get many suggestions, rather try and read some of the previous threads, @RiaanP could maybe help, he is the tech guy in here. I personally use (and I have six lights) Geisemanns, two Middays, three Aquablue plus and one Actinic (to make the colour "pop"), have great Coral growth, have a clam and a beautiful bubble tip.
I dont have any SPS, only softies and LPS'

Hello and Welcome to this forum Daniel.

with 4 tubes, I would go for 2 Actinic (20000K) and 2 white 10000K tubes.

What is the depth of your tank?

Thanks for all your suggestions....do u have a pic of your tank with lights on?...

At the moment mine are 2 20,000 K marine blue and 2 10,000K Marine white.....so your suggestion Riann is to keep this combination?

my tank is a shallow tank only 12/14inches (30/35cm) deep from the light fixtures.....speaking of shallow tanks....some of my corals (especially my Toadstool Mushroom Leather and polpys are not opening!!) could be cause of too much light on them or?

is the actinic 460n the same as blue 20,000K bulbs? sorry im stupid in lighting specs :)

    Thanks
    Daniel

i would honestly go for giesemann aqua-blue, they are white to our eyes, but have nice blue 450nm wavelength emissions, a fiji pink or aqua pink if you have alot of lps, then actinic+ and one 10k

and the order from front to back is
    ACtinic+
    Aquapink
    10k
    aqua-blue
