Is it normal for T5's to get so hot that they melt the glue from a glue gun?

I attached the lamp holders with a glue gun, but after 2 hours they just melted of. I since glued them with Pratley Steel.

My thermometer gave me a temparature reading of 29. The probe was fixed 15 cm below the waterline in the dt.

I now chucked it in the sump in the dt return chamber, and now it reads around 25 degrees. Can I leave it there?

Yes it is normal - I also made the mistake once of using hotmelt glue sticks but it never worked - I eventually used a glue called securistic to glue the cabling

Best glue or even Sestic .... We got tired of going back to customers to redo wiring on our alarm installations .... This glue was made specifically for our industry but has a million uses .... and much cheaper than glue sticks!
