    Hey Guys

Which T5 combinations give the best colour and growth results?

    So far I have a 10 000K white and 20 000K blue.

I hear there are all types like pink and purple as well...?

The white and blue are all we need for our reefs. The other colors will lead to problems with algae blooms.

Try and get the best white for your bucks. Some cheepies are yellow and need the blue to give a bright white.

Lappies have you Blue closest to the front of the tank as it is more for visual.

    But yes a 10 000K and a 20 000k will be fine until you upgrade:D

Kanga would you add more colours e.g. pink and purple or just more white and blue?

How long do they last for?

Most things I read said about 12 month for T5, but one LFS told me 15 months.

the thumb rule on t5s is to change every 12 months.but IMO the blues and purples can be run till they burn out

A wa - What? Oh you mean the thing ANGRY keeps my credit card in:whistling:

Personally for me blue and 10Kk red only to supplement if you have halides or 6 + T5's
Also bear in mean Mekaeel has a very well balanced mature system so he can control his algaes etc very easy:)

Can be very helpful only if you have nutrients 100% under control. Else you will have an expensive underwater lawn :)
