T5 Ballasts And Holders

    sorry abt that ....was looking at 6 or 8 t5s in a new setup....will fill u giuys in when i have pics....really liked the look of this but not sure what it is or how to wire it...??...I am talking abt the holders for the t5s as well as ballasts (4 foot)....my local lfs is gonna set me back abt 3k with globes and i keep thinking there must be a better cheaper way to fit in 6 t5s into the new hood ....

    On the ballast there is a diagram indicating how it should be wired up.
    What bulbs are you getting?

    dude sent u a mail with specs u get it yet? was looking at AM bulbs and was told this pic is of AM holders (very expenive) is that right /wrong

    Go for a brand like ATI or Geisiman. I've only heard good about these bulbs.

    Expensive holders make no sense.:whistling:

    My T5's are connected by chocolate blocks, the most cost effective holder I have ever found. ;)

    They acutely make perfect sense. They don't rust, and they provide some insulation to water and they are a holder.

    Connector blocks is the correct name but i know them as choc blocks too.

    Any hardware store, just make sure you get the right size as they are available in loads of variations.

    Shiks you are looking for trouble using them for your T5's so close to salt water, yes they are cheap but that is their only advantage. Contact Andrew from Eco Aquatics and get the proper ones.
