hi was at the local light shop, and the guy told me that a dual 58w T8 ballast would run a 54w t5x2 without any problems. Hmmmm now i was wondering if this was true what would u lose regarding perfomance of the globe etc ? only reason i am considering this is because neither osram nor phillips have any of the t5 HO ballasts in stcok

Hey bud not too sure if the T8 ballast would work as efectivly as the t5 would.looking at the T5 ballast and a 80w ballast you can conect a 55w or 80 w TC-L globe T8 globe not rec\omended

    HO meaning High Output ?

    How does it differ to a normal 80 / 54 watt ?
