Howsit guys I have an Reef Octo ATU however the pump on it cannot pump through a non return valve im using on the Kalk stirrer. Above is the specs on the pump.

This is the valve it needs to pump thru, i have connected this very valve to my ro unit and it does push water out the other side so it definately needs some pressure to work, which the existing pump cant provide.

    Replacement dosing pump with low voltage 3-12V DC for osmolator, power with 4mm hose at 11V: 0.9m – 110l/h, 1.4m – 80l/h, 1.8m – 58l/h, Hmax 3.6m.

Im looking to swop the existing pump on the Reef Octo Unit with this Tunze metering pump which appears to be the same voltage but has a better head, thus better pressure.

Can a sparky or anyone tell me if this could work.

its should work, the float switches the power, as long as they have the same rating should be fine.

the RO ATU has a transformer which you wont need probably so maybe just use a float switch on the new pump

I was hoping to just snip the pump off and reconnect the new pump.

    just be 100% sure!

you dont want to plug a 12V device in 220V power then throw in salt water

Its the tunze metering pump that comes with their atu's. It is also sold separately by tunze.

So I managed to get the above pump from Tunze.

Heres the Reef Octo ATU 12v - 220v adaptor.

    IMG04304-20131115-1935.jpg

Problem was to find this pin so i didnt have to cut the existing pump pin.

    IMG04300-20131115-1934.jpg

Managed to find it at A1 Radio, its called a Phillips Speaker pin (Old type).

    IMG04368-20131126-1127.jpg

Now just to solder the metering pump to the phillips pin and connect to RO ATU AC/DC Adaptor and hope it works.

Tried it does not work, metering pump just vibrates. I presume a power supply issue, I took a new osmolator 3155 from Anita, bit the bullet. Will be seting up later today.
