I suppose as one of the mods on this site I should at least have a tank setup thread. So here it is:

Measurements:
Display:
60*55*60cm, 10mm glass with black silicone and no bracing.
The overflow is just a pipe fitting elbow with the side cut off.

Water:
All synthetic, RO and mixture of Seachem reef salt and Aquamedic reef salt

Equipment:
OceanRunner 3500 pump (have a hailea lying around as a backup)
Reef Octopus DNW 110 (recirc, but it's in my sump, fed from overflow)
A little heater somewhere, hardly needed but its seriously cold in CT at the moment.
Noname 150W MH pendant (14kK BLV bulb) with 2 T8's (Zoo-med Coral-Sun actinic)
Aquamedic Titan chiller

Fish:
African Clown Wrasse (about 4-5cm)
2 Common clowns
1 bristletooth tang

Corals:
Meat/Button/Doughnut (Cynarina)
2 species of Xenia
Brown star polyps
Yellow bali polyps
A few species of zoanthids
Mushrooms (Discosoma)
Big green open Brain
Several blastomussa/acanthastrea
Fox coral
Orange ricordia
3 acropora
1 montipora

Other:
Double Sea Star (Iconaster longimanus)
Pistol shrimp somewhere
I think around 13 hermit crabs
3 snails
1 cleaner shrimp
1 fire shrimp (were 2 but one went through the OR3500)

Filtration:
Overflow splits into first compartment (some purigen and carbon in there) and skimmer
Second compartment has the skimmer in
Third is DSB with aragalive
Fourth has some live rock
Fifth is heater and return pump and auto topup switch

Tank after I got it:

Since then the sump has been replaced with a better design and the skimmer changed.

A recentish full tank shot.

Definitely one of my "tank defining" corals.

Some stuff that grew out of nowhere.

The bane of my existence,by day:

By night:

Still zero colour on my SPS but it seems my DSB has kicked in and almost all the algae has buggered off overnight...

Oh here's a pic of my tank BC (before coralline). The water level is currently lower than it was there. That overflow was a bit noisy then (tank in bedroom) and I couldn't adjust the return pump etc. I could raise the water level now but I'm keeping it lower rather so the SPS can get vaguely more light as there's less water for the light to travel through.

Also the black backing in that pic doesn't stick up like that btw, just happened to be like that in the photo. And yes the doors close as well...

Awesome Rory!!

I love the fact that the ballasts are built into the unit. It is, isn't it?

What star fish is that?

Looking Good Moo !!!!!!!
You say you've dropped the water level slightly, how did you do that ?
