After more than seven years of helping to distribute more and better aquarium products all across North America, Sunlight Supply has made the hard call to shutter its Aquatics division. Sunlight Supply’s aquarium arm carried lots of quality aquarium products like Brightwell, Warner Marine, Thrive Aquatics, AquaIllumination, AquaticLife and many many more, but Sunlight-Aqua will no longer exist as of the end of the month, November 30th.

While Sunlight Aqua will no longer be taking any*new orders for aquarium products, they will honor all standing purchase orders and it is our understanding that they still have quite a lot of inventory in aquatics products which will also need to vacate their facilities across the country. Although stores and dealers will find no shortage of ways to get their NeoMarine Salt and AI Sols and Vegas, we are somewhat concerned about what will happen to the unique products that Sunlight-Aqua brought to market of its own accord such as the only true very high output T5 fluorescent fixture the Tek-Wave VHO T5, the SS-LED hybrid light and the popular line of Maristar and Maristar II fixtures.

The memo below was sent out to internal employees of Sunlight Aqua with a significant portion redacted for privacy.

    Sunlight Employees,

After a great deal of thought and consideration a decision has been made to exit our Aqua business. While the Aqua Division has been both a source of annual growing revenue and profit for the company, going forward, Sunlight will focus on its core horticultural business….both domestically and globally.

[. . .]*A notice will be going out to the industry, our customers and suppliers within 24 hours.*[. . .]

I want to offer my sincere thanks to the Aqua Team and those who have supported them throughout the years. I have really enjoyed leading this group and the opportunity to participate in this industry over the past 7 ½ years.

More details will follow in the coming days. Until then, please contact me with questions.
