Hi guys

Can some please help this noob with understanding sun coral feeding behaviuor. . .

I've been feeding mine with frozen mysis and cyclopleeze - my question is this - does the coral only get fed when it actually catches say like a mysis or do they filter trough tiny food aswell. Some of the polyps open their mouth during the day and I was wondering if they were doing this to feed. Even at night when they extend its obvious when they feed on mysis buy how about the tiny cyclopleeze or even marine snow??

thx

thanks guys - I just tried flafes in a funnel and wow - so now I mix flakes and cyclopleeze - will feed every other day and see what happens - theyre still new but happy

bro they will eat tiny particles of food. they open if they "smell" food. But its definitely not enough. So don't take it that they are feeding when they open. I would not call them Filter feeders. I feed mine 3 times a week.
. I would rather feed them frozen then flakes. I feed mine with artemia and cyclop.
My favorite coral nice choice:thumbup:
