    Hi All

After reading all I can take in about sumps etc... I still can't decide on what to do with the space I have....
I have 1.1M to work with and still want to add and ATO...
    my Display tank is 1300L x 650W x 700H (water level at +-670)

I plan on keeping SPS and LPS and the odd softie or 2
    and probably about 10 fish

I would prefer biological filtration as much as possible.

So far my thoughts are LR (between 50 and 75Kg's) only between T3 Skimmer and return.
But it seems as if LR only wont be enough
I've also thought of adding an additional level in, and having semi slow moving water over a DSB (water split from overflow) and then back into the return.. that would make it a DSB AND LR Sump...
Then everything else cross my mind Cheato, ATS etc....

Whats simplest that you recommend that would work?

    Regards

    Elts

MAke the DSB biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig if you want it to work. Remember if you later want to go np pellets or zeo you will need to remove the DSB

Why? Put your expensive LR in your display tank - they will do exactly the same filtration there as in the sump...

As Tremayn suggested, make your DSB area in your sump as large as possible, with the sump divided into 3 sections, one smallish section for the down flow and skimmer chamber, one large area for your DSB/refugium (with some lighting you would do best to keep some macro algae growing in this chamber as well) and a small chamber for your return pump (this can be sub-divided to also accommodate RO water for your automatic top-up, if needed).
