Sump

    I build my self a sump for my Boyu X1000. I want to know, can i use seawater to fill up sump and wait until water temp is same a tank temp and the start to use sump or must i start from scratch.

    I worked out that the sump is going to take more or less 57 liters.

    Allow the seawater to heat up in your sump before introducing your tank to the water. You don't want to shock the inhabitants with a drop in temperature

    Ok thanks. I got a shipwreck in tank and i want to take it out. My plan is to collected rock from the sea. Can i use it after i cleaned it and will my tank start to cycle again after i put rocks in.

    Check the seawater has the same Salinity,pH and Alk as the tank water, or you may nuke your creatures especially inverts

    the rock in our seas are too solid. Sorry, will not work as live rock.
    Maybe a piece with some nice live on it, yes, but other that, it is of no use.

    My plan is to use the rock for decor. I already got about 13kg of live rock. So would that be ok to use it.

    If there is something nice on it. Yes why not.

    Else use that space for more live rock...
