    A standard 3 chamber sump.
Chamber 1 Over flow from tank and you skimmer.
Chamber 2 DSB (deep san bed).
Chamber 3 Return pump to tank.

Mekaeel right on the money, if you want to get funky you can have a separate LR compartment :)

Those are baffels.Helps in preventing micro bubbles from entering the return chamber and thus prevents it from going into your display.

I prefer to have it.Saves you hassels in the long run,ie.once the tank is filled and then you notice the bubbles

mekaeel would these micro bubbles not aid in the aeration of the water?

In the first compartment of the sump it is fine, but you dont want it in your DT as it will look ugly.

i dont think it would carry waste wetty, the DSB / CHAETO should take care of that at a large percentage
