    Hi All,

The light is on 24/7 in my sump. Could I still keep hermits and snails in the sump ?

Yes, you could but they not going to do much work as they are nocturnal. So rather run a 18 hour cycle. Also give them some LR, so they can hide from the light.

I think somebody forgot to tell our local hermits that they are nocturnal, as I saw a load of them out today in the rock pools, and it was nice and sunny.

Same here, i've seen hermits by the hundreds (and collected) on a hot sunny day, quite a few times.
Also i've been collecting hermits for years in weather like this.

I have hermits around the rocks all day long - mexican red leg, seem quite diurnal to me.

Not wrong, just different species i reckon, and it may be better to reverse light your sump, i.e. display tank lights on day time, sump lights night time, that way you should keep your PH more stable.
